i've always seen trailers for The Flight of the Concords on SBS but never really tuned in to watch.
but yesterday, gao and i decided to watch it since we were both bored, there wasn't anything else worthy to watch on the other stations and we just didn't wanna get started on our individual work yet.
and my god, we were in for a good comic ride.
the humour is rather guyish in some sense but nonetheless, funny.
watch the clip below for the best part of the episode that i watched.

when my aussie friend would say something to me and then begin or end it with a "Meh", i always wondered, what does that mean?
i never got down to asking her or checking it up on the internet.
so when i was reading a local magazine a while ago, i chanced upon this word again.

as we all from home know, "meh" is a hokkien term which some of us use to end a sentence with.
like, "you know how to do it meh?" or "this one not right meh?"
while "meh" is quite a cheena-fied way of talking, "meh" in the aussie terms ain't.
According to Wikipedia, "Meh" is an interjection, often an expression of apathy, indifference, or boredom. However, it can also be used to indicate agreement or disagreement. It can also be an adjective, meaning mediocre or boring.

imagine if singaporeans were to use that word in our own context and the australians vice versa, and we'd be speaking to each other.
i reckon that would illustrate a typical communication breakdown.
hyuk hyuk.

it's a love story with coldplay.

this is too beautiful to not share.
two of my favourite songs mashed into one.
it's times like these when i watch pianists like Jon Schmidt play that i feel grateful to my mom for pushing me to pick up piano lessons.
although i can't put songs together like they can, at least i can play.
mommy does know best (sometimes).
that said, enjoy!

mraz, mraz, sing along now.
